Yep, That’s Right, I Met Him!
Yesterday, as part of my summer job at the US
Consulate in Cape Town, I attended a sermon given by retired Archbishop of Cape
Town Desmond Tutu. It began at 7:45, and ended at around 8:40. It was a small
crowd and only those who knew about it went. I went with the Consul General,
Erica Barks-Ruggles, and my dad, Nathan Holt. My job was to take pictures and
report on the event, and after the sermon, Desmond Tutu blessed a quilt that
was taken down from the walls of the church. Desmond Tutu gave a nice sermon
and I have to say, he is quite a comical individual. It was a nice morning with
a small group of people who seemed comfortable with each other. We watched the
blessing of the quilt take place, and I even ran into someone I knew. It was an
awesome time and I wish all of you guys were there with me!
