Pippie. A Living Miracle.

Remember that little girl named Pippie? AKA Isabella Kruger? The one who got burned? And 80% of her skin fell off? And swellings grew to three times her size? And she was undergoing skin surgery? And I said that there would be more news to follow in the next three weeks? Well, looks like the surgery went well!

Anice Kruger, the mother of Pippie (Isabella Kruger) dressing Pippie and preparing her for the long-awaited release from hospial.to the rehabilitation center.

Pippie is on her road to recovery as she left the pediatric ICU of Garden City Hospital this morning and is on her way to the Netcare rehabilitation hospital in Auckland Park. Nurses lined the exit to the hospital and other patients clapped as she made her first trip outside in 7 months. Anice Kruger, her mother, embraced ICU nurse Simphiwe Mabaso in tears full of gratitude and joy. From the moment that Pippie stepped into the hospital with swellings three times her size, her face covered in black soot, and her skin looking like a leather shell to today is a miraculous improvement.

Despite the improvement, Pippie still has a long journey ahead of her and has to undergo severe exercises to bring her back to her “normal” state. Her joints would have to be stretched, she would have to gain muscle strength, learn to lift her head up, and learn to speak. This is an experimental therapy and the long-term effects remain undetermined. However, so far, the operation is seen as a major success and Pippie is one step closer to recovery. Her prayers are with me forever and always.
GOD BLESS HER.
